Online shopping has become such a normal part of life. Most of us don’t even pause to count how many times we click “buy now.”

But what if we did pause? What if we paid attention to those purchases—and let them become a practice of stewardship? Last year, through our Grounded in Giving campaign, we invited everyone to give up a cup of coffee a week and dedicate that cost to support the church’s ministry.

This year, we’d like to invite you into something new we’re calling Kingdom Click! Here’s how it works:

  • Keep track of your online purchases—Amazon Prime, Walmart, Target, or wherever you shop.  Keep track of every click.
  • At the end of the month, consider tithing 10% of that spending to the church as an extra gift, alongside your regular giving.  That helps build the kingdom.

It’s a small step, but together it could make a big difference. The average American spends about $513 online each month. If that number holds true for us at St. Matthew’s, this practice could add more than $10,000 a month—or $127,000 a year—to support the work God is doing through our church. Just imagine the impact if we all joined in!

If you don't shop online, we'd encourage you to take tithe (or 10%) of that average amount - $50 - and use that to support St. Matthew's in addition to your regular giving!

God is already moving powerfully at St. Matthew’s. We’re growing, reaching new people, and strengthening our ministries. With all of the growth and new life in our church, the one area we find ourselves lagging in is in our giving.  Your consistent giving makes it possible to help fund the life we see all around us. If every family were to participate in this new practice, it would allow us to meet our projected 2026 budget and step even more fully into God’s call.

What if our everyday purchases reminded us that true wealth isn’t in what we keep, but in how we live faithfully as stewards of God’s gifts?

So we’d love for you to try this with us: keep track of what you spend online. You don’t have to be exact—just round it off. Then, tithe 10% of that amount to the church, and watch how God moves through even the simplest acts of faithfulness.

Let’s discover together how even our shopping carts can become tools of discipleship.
