Outreach Ministries
Foreign Missions ministers to those in need in foreign countries. Each year, St. Matthew's sends a mission team to Mexico to provide medical attention to people who do not have access to medical attention or cannot afford it. A construction team also provides assistance in building medical facilities or church-related buildings for the local community.
Prison Ministry shares the love of Christ with men and women who are incarcerated in various prisions in the metro area. Through music, Bible study and prayer, St. Matthew's provides a powerful witness and encourages inmates to seek Christ and share his love with others.
Hispanic Ministry shares the Gospel of Jesus Christ with Hispanic children in Forest and in Madision county by collecting toys, clothes, and back-to-school supplies, as well as helping with Vacation Bible School, an Easter egg hunt and other seasonal activities.
Local Missions This Committee provides an opportunity for us to share Christ in our community. By providing housing, health care for children, and other social services, we are given an opportunity to, not only serve Christ, but to help our immediate neighbors.
Scouting is offered to the community through Tiger Cubs, Cub Scouts, Boy Scouts, and Girl Scouts. These programs emphasize leadership, learning, character building, and family activities.
Church and Society Committee encourages health and wellness within our church family and within our community.
Birthday Gift for Christ ministers to 75-80 families in Madison, Canton, and Forest by providing toys, food, clothing, blankets, gifts, personal hygiene supplies, and other household products. In recent years, this ministry has expanded to include a Back to School Birthday Gift for Christ, where school supplies are donated and provided to children in need. |
