"No one has greater love than this, to lay down one’s life for one’s friends." John 15:13

Jesus tells us that one of the greatest gifts He has given to us is the Church.  But, if we are not careful, we can mistake the beautiful body of Christ for the 501.3c institution.  We can mistake the community for the organization.  As St. Matthew's moves into a new season of life, we are needing EVERYONE to be an active part of our community.

That means giving.

And serving.

And inviting.

It has always taken us all, but in this new season, it is truly going to take everyone who is a part of St. Matthew's UMC for us to do the things that we are called to do.  But here is what we all needed to know. Our call is not to build this institution but to build this community.  To lay down our lives, to give who we are to this community.  And in doing that, we find life.

As St. Francis said, it is in the giving that we receive.

We need you now; our community needs you now. And we can do this, now.
