The Weekday Ministry, as a ministry of St. Matthew’s United Methodist Church, believes each child is a child of God and should have every opportunity to develop physically, intellectually, emotionally, socially, and spiritually to his or her fullest potential.
All children are uniquely different and develop at a different pace. Children should feel good about themselves and develop in an environment that lets them be creative and expressive. Children need guidance, structure, and limits. Children should be encouraged and praised in a nurturing environment. Developmentally appropriate activities are essential to children’s growth and development and need to be guided by adults who encourage and allow them to become all they are capable of being.
Our vision is to enhance the student’s learning experience through enrichment activities, social and emotional activities (through social modeling, activities with staff taking an interest in each and every child), and spiritual formation/development (prayer during snack time, weekly chapel) – while also allowing for play, unstructured activities and down time.
